The Clash of Clans October 2026 update introduces major changes to the game’s user interface, a Halloween-themed medal event, new Hero Equipment, temporary troops, and lower Ore prices. These changes aim to improve progression, simplify village management, and give players new strategies for attacking enemy bases.
1. Redesigned User Interface
Supercell announced a complete redesign of the Clash of Clans user interface on October 8, 2026. The new layout organizes essential features into clearer menus.
Key changes include:
- New Build Menu: Access building upgrades, Hero upgrades, Army upgrades, Hero Equipment, and Hero Pets from one location.
- Improved Battle Menu: Battle Log, army editing, revenge attacks, and live replay indicators are now integrated into the Battle button.
- Upgrade Filters: Sort and filter upgrades by category, Hero, or resource cost.
- Dedicated Magic Items Button: Access Books, Hammers, Runes, and Potions more quickly.
- Improved Event Access: Access the Event Hub and Inbox through a dedicated event tray.
- Updated Profile Menu: Settings, player information, and account management are grouped under the Profile button.
The Builder Base also receives interface improvements, while the Clan Capital receives visual changes rather than a complete redesign.
2. Portal Panic Medal Event
The Portal Panic Medal Event is the main seasonal event for October 2026. It runs from October 8 at 08:00 UTC until October 25 at 08:00 UTC.
Players with Town Hall 6 or higher can participate by collecting Sour Elixir during Home Village battles. The collected resource fills the Sour Elixir Fountain and advances the event reward track.
Event rewards include:
- Rift Medals for the Trader Shop.
- New Epic Hero Equipment.
- Temporary Halloween troops.
- Magic Items, including Books and Runes.
- Hero Equipment Ore.
- Gold, Elixir, and Dark Elixir.

3. New Epic Hero Equipment: Portal Pendant
The Portal Pendant is a new Epic Equipment item for the Minion Prince.
Its main abilities include:
- Teleporting the Minion Prince and nearby friendly troops and Heroes back to the army deployment bar.
- Allowing recalled units to be redeployed elsewhere on the battlefield.
- Restoring some health and providing a temporary speed boost to redeployed units.
- Healing the Minion Prince when the portal activates.
- Automatically activating to save the Minion Prince from fatal damage if the ability has not already been used.
Upgrading the Portal Pendant increases its portal radius, recall capacity, healing, and speed-boost duration. Siege Machines are not affected by this equipment.
4. New Temporary Troop: Totem Thrower
The Totem Thrower is a new temporary troop introduced for the Clashoween season.
It attacks ground targets from a range of six tiles and deals substantial damage per second. Its first attack, followed by every fourth attack, throws a cursed totem instead of a rock.
The totem stuns nearby enemy defenses and leaves behind a stationary Tiny Totem that absorbs defensive fire until destroyed.
Players can unlock the Totem Thrower through the Portal Panic event reward track.
5. Returning Halloween Troops
Alongside the Totem Thrower, several temporary troops return for the seasonal event:
- Lavaloon: Combines Balloon and Lava Hound characteristics, targets Air Defenses, drops bombs, and spawns Lavaloon Pups.
- Witch Golem: Targets ground defenses, summons Skeletons while moving, and releases Big Boys when destroyed.
- Royal Ghost: Can pass through walls, remains untargetable for the first 12 seconds after deployment, and slows its targets.
- Giant Skeleton: Targets defenses, absorbs substantial damage, and causes significant area damage when defeated.
These temporary troops can be unlocked through the event track and provide additional options for experimenting with attack strategies.
6. New Hero Skins
The October Clashoween season introduces six themed Hero Skins:
- Shroud Queen
- Savage King
- Nasty Prince
- Terror Champion
- Behemoth Duke
- Spider Warden
Shroud Queen is available through the Gold Pass. The other skins are being released gradually throughout the seasonal period and may not all appear in the Shop immediately.
7. Lower Hero Equipment Ore Prices
On October 2, 2026, Supercell announced permanent reductions to the Gem prices of Hero Equipment Ore.
The updated prices are:
- Shiny Ore: Reduced from 1 Gem to 0.5 Gems.
- Glowy Ore: Reduced from 5 Gems to 3 Gems.
- Starry Ore: Reduced from 35 Gems to 20 Gems.
Supercell stated that these changes reduce the Gem cost of maxing out an Epic Equipment item by approximately half. The October Medal Event also includes updated Ore prices and additional Ore on the paid reward track.
8. Additional Interface Improvements
